DESIGN GUIDE
Plan your design
Planning and purpose
A memorial or prayer meeting invitation should communicate the family’s wishes with care and clarity. Besnu, Shradhanjali, a prayer meeting, Punyatithi or a Shraddh gathering may have different purposes and attendance arrangements. Use the exact occasion name approved by the family and confirm the person’s name, any dates and the hosts before preparing a proof. Give the meeting time and venue priority. Include only information the family wants circulated, and avoid inferring ritual details from a sample. Every name, photograph reference and event detail in these sample invitations is fictional.
Design and readability
Use a restrained layout with clear names, timings and venue details. Keep decorative elements secondary to the family’s message. If a photograph is requested, use the approved image and crop without altering the person’s appearance. Check Gujarati spellings, honorifics and dates carefully, and let one agreed family representative consolidate corrections to the proof.
Review the design at the size people will actually see it. Check names, numbers and spelling in every language, and leave enough space around important information. Ask for changes on the same proof so the final version reflects one agreed set of corrections.
Sharing and print preparation
Confirm which contact details and photograph the family wants shared before exporting the invitation. Review the final image at phone size, and verify the printed proof separately if cards are needed. When a timing changes, clearly identify the revised notice so relatives do not rely on an older forwarded version.
Decide the final use before approving artwork. Digital sharing, a printed piece and a production file can need different exports. For printing, confirm dimensions, bleed, paper or material and finishing with the printer before the final file is prepared. Keep the approved version separate from earlier proofs.
Common questions
Can the invitation be made without a photograph?
Yes. A text-based layout can give the person’s name, the family’s approved message and meeting details clearly. The family decides whether a photograph, symbol or short remembrance is appropriate for the notice.
What should be checked before circulating the notice?
Ask the family’s representative to approve names, dates, timings, venue, wording and the intended contact number together. Confirm which version is final, then share that approved notice rather than a draft or an earlier proof.
