Engagement / Sagai / Chandlo Vidhi
An engagement invitation brings two families together to celebrate the couple’s commitment. Some Gujarati families call this occasion Chandlo Vidhi, while others use Sagai or ring ceremony. Use the family-approved name for the same engagement occasion, rather than presenting Chandlo Vidhi as a separate wedding function.
An engagement invitation should state the couple’s names, the family-approved occasion name, the ceremony time, host families and venue. In some Gujarati families this same engagement is called Chandlo Vidhi; follow the hosts’ terminology and present it as the engagement occasion rather than a separate wedding function. Clarify whether guests are invited for the ceremony alone or for a meal as well.
Planning notes
State whether the invitation covers the engagement ceremony alone or includes a meal afterwards. Keep the couple’s names balanced and check their preferred spelling. If the wedding date is not settled, leave it out rather than implying an announcement that has not been made. When the hosts call the occasion Chandlo Vidhi, use that name in the heading and wording.

Review the image at phone size and confirm that no letters, lines or contact details are clipped. For print, also check a proof at the intended physical size.
